Directions and Parking
582 Market Street is in the historic Hobart Building, a few doors east of Montgomery Street, on the north side of Market, where Second Street meets Market. The nearest BART station is about 100 feet west of our door (toward uptown) at the corner of Montgomery and Market. MUNI also stops a few feet from our entrance. When you enter the building, sign in with your initials only and my suite number to preserve your privacy. Then take the elevator to the seventh floor. Exit the elevator and turn left. Go to the end of the hall and press the black button next to the door to let me know you've arrived. You won't disturb a session in progress, as this activates a light only I can see. For evening appointments, enter the doorway to the right and follow the same sign-in procedure. If there's any problem getting in, I'll be expecting you and am reachable by office phone to let you in.
Parking is available at moderate cost a few blocks away at the Sutter-Stockton Garage (open 24 hours), which is located between Bush and Sutter Streets at Powell. Nearby hourly parking is available at the Central Garage on Stevenson Street (open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.), between Second and First Streets. You'll also find nearby parking at the Hearst Center garage (open 5 a.m. to midnight). Enter at Stevenson Street, one block east of Third Street. There's more expensive 24 hour parking a few short blocks from the office at the Paramount garage/Tower Valet Parking on Jessie Street. Montgomery turns into New Montgomery as it crosses Market going south, Turn right just past the Palace Hotel onto Jessie and go one block. Paramount garage is on your left.

* All initial appointments are arranged through a brief phone call so I can get a general sense of the issues you're addressing. I also ask questions to make sure that your needs are likely to fit within my scope of practice (areas of training and expertise). If those issues are outside my scope of practice, instead of meeting, I try to offer referrals to therapists or community resources with the appropriate specialization. 24-hour notice is required to reschedule the no-charge visit once only.
